At Gettysburg today I learned that general cannon balls weighed about 12 pounds and that they were accurate for more than 200 yards. They shot canisters out of the cannon when they were about 10 yards away. I learned that there were 5 people who worked each cannon.

ReplyDeleteI'd hate to be in the line of fire of that, but it's sad to know how many people died because of the cannons. I still can't believe they had five people working the cannons, that's a bit insane.
